AGC Partners With Portland Electric to Deliver on Sustainability Commitment

    Sign Up for Maintenance Tips

Every day, AGC designs and manufactures heat exchangers that do everything from increasing the efficiency of food and beverage production to producing clean water. Our products make operations more efficient for businesses across the globe— and now our facilities are making a positive impact as well.

New Facility Utilizes 100% Green Energy

    New Building

AGC’s goal is to reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels and thrive within the use of green energy. In 2022, all electricity supplied to our new Fairview, Oregon facility will be 100% supplied by clean wind energy produced by Northwestern wind farms. Through this Green Future Enterprise program, offered through Portland General Electric, we’re joining other local enterprises to support local wind farms and reduce our carbon footprint.

To enroll in the program, a company must invest $2 million in capital improvements, or $500,000 in equipment. We invested $9 million in the new facility, and spent $2.8 million on equipment — significantly above and beyond what is required.

Beyond supporting renewable power, we put a lot of thought into how to make our new building as efficient as possible. The facility includes a water reclamation system to reduce water waste and utilizes natural light and LEDs to reduce electricity consumption.

    Fulfilling Our Environmental Responsibility

This commitment is just one of the ways we’re making a difference through sustainability. While we’re not the only ones in our industry chasing this desire to do better by the earth, we’re one of the few that are pushing ourselves beyond what is expected to be listed as a “green” company. And we will continue to improve so that we can leave the world better than we found it.
